Once upon a time there was a family man who lost poweri at his rented cabin on the lake.ii
All the neighbours came around that evening and said, “that’s too bad”.
And as he lit dozens of candles the family man said, “maybe.”
The next day the power was still out, so he played chess and ping pong and caught frogs with his sons all day, and the neighbours came around and said “why that’s great isn’t it.”
And the family man said, “maybe.”
The next day the power was out again, but now his sons were tired of playing games with their father, and so they figured out how to charge their Nintendo Switch in the family’s Cayenne Turboiii so they could play Minecraft all day (and all night), and all the neighbours came around and said “that’s too bad isn’t it.”
And the man said “maybe.”
The next day they were going to go paddle boarding on the lake but the hurricane had completely destroyed the dock and the winds were still whipping, plus the family man didn’t actually like being on the water,iv and so the man said to himself, “isn’t that wonderful.”
And his wife said “maybe.”
That evening the whole family looked up at the stars, and said “…….”
- Debby did it:
-
↩ - The 4.0L twin-turbo V8 in this machine is sooo powerful and characterful that it made me wish for a revived 928 with such a mill up front!
- The family man mostly didn’t trust the water, so it neither thrilled him (like a rollercoaster) nor relaxed him (like a sauna or massage). He much preferred the air! ↩
[…] swear I’m not hunting for these hurricanes, but with Debby finding us earlier this year, either my timing is shit at the moment or the poles are legit […]
